Did you know?

Did you know that this week was a tiny bit crazy busy? Last night was the first time we were both home before 9pm all week. So we celebrated with a barbecue and games.

Did you know that I finished Mockingjay last week? (Maybe it was 2 weeks ago?) I liked it even though..... Well there are plenty of things not to love about it, but I couldn't put it down and liked it anyway. Now I've started the Uglies series. So far, I'm interested.

Did you know that planning a party for a 1 year old is kindof a good time? At least the looking around and finding stuff that's cute phase of it. When it comes to the actual doing stuff part, not so much I'm sure.

Did you know that Josh is having dinner at his mom's with his whole family while I do church stuff? Totally bites. I tried to trick him into staying home and anxiously awaiting my arrival while chillin' with Bubbah....turns out he's smart enough to realize that if he takes Bubbah to Grandma's house he'll get to hang out, talk, have a real meal, play games, and probably even get to take a nap. Meanwhile I'll be sitting at home anxiously awaiting HIS arrival. *sigh* I want my hubby back.

Did you know that although I've been a legal adult for 8 years (whoa....I'm old!) I still can't walk in heels? I even googled it. There are A LOT of you tube videos showing how normal people walk in heels. And they say stupid things like "relax your hips and knees". Today I'm going to practice more, but the bottom line is that I'm too stupid to be an adult.

Did you know that I was in my 2nd year of college before I every purchased a pink article of clothing? True (and tragic) story.

Did you know that Tommy is now attached to a psycho screaming monkey? I don't let him sleep with it because if you push it's nose it screeches and screams and makes creepy monkey sounds and I don't think any of us need to wake up to that in the middle of the night. The other morning when I went to get Tommy out of bed he had pulled Crazy Monkey off the shelf near his bed and squished poor monkey's face between the slats of the crib. He was mostly hanged in the crib slats. Poor crazy monkey.

Did you know that there are people "out there" who run 40K races? Poor crazy runners.

Did you know that a snail can sleep up to 3 years? Sounds nice eh? If I were a snail, by the time I realized I was still alive Josh would be done with school!

Did you know?

Did you know that windows after dark freak me out so bad that I refuse to get close enough to them to close the blinds? True story. yes, I know I'm a chicken, but I just know that if I get close enough I'll see something I don't wanna see.

Did you know that it's already 8:15am and I haven't showered OR gone to a meeting yet today? Weird.

Did you know that every time I sit down to eat, Tommy crawls over to me, stands up on my knees and begs for food? By "begs for food" I mean slaps my knees over and over with his mouth open while making "uh uh uh!" sounds. Of all the people I've shared meals with, he's my 2nd favorite.

Did you know that I forced Josh to let me buy Dr. Pepper last night? We don't drink carbonation around here because Josh's guts would explode if he did, and it's not good for you so since he doesn't I don't either. Until my head is pounding and I've had more than one "hangover" morning in the week. And my guts are trying to crawl out of my insides. Then I buy a 12 pack and drink 3 cans before bed.

Did you know that a can of Spam is opened every 4 seconds? I can count on one hand the number of times I've eaten Spam or seen other people eat Spam. So I just wanna know, who is it that's opening all these cans? Is it you?

Did you know that Tommy giggles at me when I make the elephant sound? Josh does ALL of the other animal sounds, but only I do the elephant sound. And not at church.

Did you know that Tommy still spits and pukes? Not anything like it was, but he still does it. And now that he's fully mobile, it doesn't just stay on the blanket he was playing on. It's a bigger badder deal.

Did you know that for the first time ever in my life I'm terrified for winter to start? I love the snow and gray and cold and normally this where I can't wait for the flakes to fly. This year? I'll suddenly be housebound and what if Tommy doesn't like to be cold? And what if there is snow on the ground more often than not? And what if "They" don't plow my walking trail? What then?

Did you know that somehow Josh is managing his work/school schedule? I wouldn't have guessed it, but it looks like he'll be able to do it all (as usual).

Did you know that I still pray for "everybody struggling with infertility" on a regular basis? Because it still breaks my heart.

Did you know?

Did you know that you can drive through all 4 leaves of this "clover" on this freeway exit over and over and over again because of the way they all link up to each other? Good times.

Did you know that my baby can stay awake past 7:30? It ain't pretty, but it's possible.

Did you know that there are only 2 more weekends before Labor Day? Tragic.

Did you know that 1 calorie is the amount of energy that it takes to heat 1 gram of water 1 degree Celsius? It's strange for me to think of it that way, because I'm pretty sure putting a bowl of water on top of my Frosted Mini Wheats wouldn't make it boil....just sayin'.

Did you know that at the end of the summer I don't have to go back to school OR work? Cool. Now someday Josh won't have to either and that will be REALLY cool.

Did you know that it's now dark at 6am? Dark enough that a VERY kind woman in my neighborhood was concerned for my safety because I was out for a run in the dark. That was before she knew that I never go alone. Do you think I could pass Jessica off as a body guard?

Did you know that Josh and I are reading Catching Fire together? Only when we're in the car together, so it's been slow going, but this weekend a trip to Logan and back helped us make some serious progress.

Did you know?

Did you know that this "Did You Know" is a day late? Eh well, I may as well get used to that. It seems that I'm nearly always a day late and a dollar short.

Did you know that the term "shoo-in" comes from horse racing? They would "shoo" the animals to the finish line and that would make them win, and now "shoo-in" is a real live term that nobody knows how to spell.

Did you know that Tommy crawls all over the living room, down the hall, and into his room and in the kitchen, but has yet to discover the stairs? I'm calling that a blessing because if I have to put that stupid gate up and down every time I want to leave the house, I may as well get a bunch of cats and get used to the fact that I'm never leaving. Ever.

Did you know that there are 14 letters (out of 26) in the alphabet that when said aloud are also complete words? I know because every time I say "K." to Josh, as in "k. let's get going." he says "pee. are. see. you." and then we play the game where we go back and forth thinking of all the others and whoever can't think of a new one has to get up and do whatever we're doing first. Don't you wish you lived with us?

Did you know that "maaa...." is Tommy's new whining sound? Lovely.

Did you know that I am one of only a few people I know who really enjoy chillin' with my in-laws? I keep hearing in-law horror stories from friends of mine and I'm just so glad I married into a normal family.

Did you know that almost all of the people I was pregnant with have 1 year olds? 2 sisters and more neighborhood friends than I can count.

Did you know that I got Snow! Snow! Snow! from the library last week? And that I'm up before the sun these days? And that it's not too hot to function outside anymore? And that we stay up after the sun goes down? Not because we're party animals, but because WINTER IS COMING!!!!! Just sayin'.

Did you known that Bountiful Library doesn't laminate stuff? And the UPS store ran out of laminater-ing material? True story. Don't even try.

Did you know that I just finished Rumors of Wars? I really liked it, but it took FOR. EV. ER. to read because I'm also reading a bunch of other stuff.

Did you know?

Did you know that shampoo gets oil stains out of cotton? You know when you accidentally get oil on your shirt because the thing of salad dressing jumped off the counter and onto your self? That's how I know about the shampoo trick.

Did you know that the longest game of monopoly ever lasted 70 days? (According to this anyway.) But nobody can figure out how it lasted that long since it's physically impossible to stay awake for 70 straight days.

Did you know that so far they think it's impossible to stay awake for more than 11 days? If you had asked me 9.5 months ago (when Tommy was still brand new) I would've told you I'd been awake at least that long and that I'd probably be awake for the rest of my life. Which would hopefully last at least 14 days since that's when the next Dr. visit was. Nothing in the whole world was better than a Dr. visit back then. Well...not nothing, but close.

Did you know that Josh and I now have the first sunburns of summer? Nice that we held off this long huh? Not nice that we haven't left our house in nearly 36 hours because "that sun is TOO hot!"

Did you know that Tommy still refuses to sleep past 6:28? Not because he doesn't love me. Just because he has his father's blood. Because it's "his faulty genetics" that have Tommy up so early, Josh always gets to do breakfast. Which I think is fair since I do the other 3 meals every day.

Did you know that I sprained my ankle at the end of my first grade year? I had to have someone carry my chair to the end of year assembly in the lunchroom and hobble to the stage to get my award. I don't remember exactly, but I'm pretty sure it was "a very special award for being the only brown hair, brown eyed, 3'10" girl who has a knack for staying out of trouble and hiding under the jungle gym at recess" or something equally unique and special.

Did you know that Tommy hates the worm-crawl? It's really the only way he can move around on his own, but it's incredibly slow and hard and he sobs the entire time he does it. Yesterday I walked into his room to find his face buried in his hands while he tried to worm-crawl out of his crib; but, (frustratingly) couldn't move past the wall over and over again. Poor boy. When I picked him up he reached for me, and wrapped his arms around my neck and cried on my shoulder instead. He was very excited to hear about the very hungry caterpillar and even put his fingers in the holes while he sniffled and bit his binkie.

Did you know?

Did you know that Josh and I are camping with Tommy right now? True story. Baby's first campout and I have a feeling we didn't sleep well last night. I'll let you know when I come home.

Did you know that humans blink over 10,000,000 times per year? Did you blink when you read that? I did.

Did you know that we're in the Uintahs? Eat that creepos. You'll never find us in the 150 miles LONG of mountains.

Did you know that Tommy is working on more teeth? I think he likes them. I think he likes it when I yelp when he bites me. I think he's mean sometimes.

Did you know that more than once this week I didn't shower until 9:30pm because I was busy getting dirtier and smellier all day long? I sorta like those days. Until the next morning when the dirty smelliness hurts in my muscles.

Did you know that I haven't eaten a crepe in more than 2 years? Remember that place European Connection? Josh took me there once and it was fantastic. But I think that was the last time I had a crepe. Tragic.

Did you know that my Elementary School Librarian came to my wedding? True story. Mrs. Walker is one of the greatest people I've ever known in my whole wide life and I love her dearly. And I especially love that although I hadn't seen her in like 5 years she came to reception and told me I was beautiful. What a sweet woman.

Did you know that staying home is my dream come true? I told Josh once that I'd rather live in a teeny tiny studio apartment (running water is a must...) with 10 babies than in a mansion with no babies. I still think that's true. However, I reserve the right to whine about how we're growing out of our home.

Did you know that I asked Josh if it was OK for Tommy to chew on "that red white and yellow cord for the tv"? Josh said no. Because "there are people toys and baby toys. And those are people toys." Tommy wasn't real thrilled with that response.

Did you know?

Did you know that EVERYBODY goes out of town in July? Everybody.

Did you know that I had to get out Tommy's 12 month clothes so he stops going naked? I'm afraid he'll overheat now.

Did you know Back to School sales is sortof my favorite part of the year? I just want to buy 10 million fresh pencils, pads of paper, pens, binders, and general office supplies that are not dusty and are not slobbered on.

Did you know that there are 2,000 living species of starfish? The prettiest ones I've ever seen were in Sitka, Alaska. Look a sortof ugly picture of a beautiful creature!

Did you know that Aundrea and (hopefully) her two daughters are going to do a triathalon next summer? Not a full length one, just a baby sprint one. I already can't wait. And am nervous. Advice? I'm open.

Did you know that Target had corn on the cob on sale at $.05/cob? Pretty dang good if you ask me. Now if only I can get Josh to grill it I'll be in heaven.

Did you know that Tommy wore shoes to church today? Real live ones. With laces and everything. If that ain't fancy, I don't know what is.

Did you know that I periodically wipe down the Relief Socity binders with wet wipes? Because I'm fairly certain they get slobbered on. Not by grown women of course. (Although the dutch oven recipes that were in them last week might have caused excessive salivation.) But by grown women's babies? Probably.

Did you know?

Did you know that Lake Bonneville has evaporated and reformed 28 times in the past 3 million years? A tidbit we learned while reading the panel at the beginning of the trail head.

Did you know that Huntsville's fireworks start promptly at 10pm? It's OK Eden's fireworks start at 10ish and have a little story time before they light stuff on fire. We didn't miss a thing.

Did you know that Thomas can sleep through fireworks? Lucky us. Josh's favorites are the LOUD ones. My favorite are the glittery ones. We both love the purple ones.

Did you know that when you're up the canyon after dark it's NOT unbearably hot? In fact it's cold enough that you're thankful for the blanket.

Did you know that Josh came back to bed when Tommy went down for his nap this morning? I've never actually seen Josh asleep at 10am for anything. Ever. Until this morning. Keep in mind he woke up at 6:30 with Thomas for a couple of hours, but he came back. And that is nothing short of a miracle.

Did you know that when you hike to the waterfall in Waterfall Canyon you hike UP to the bottom of the fall? And there you sit, watching the water droplets fall from way up there and feeling the spray on your face. Quite a lovely experience.

Did you know that in 1778 they celebrated the 4th of July with double rations of rum? We're celebrating with snaps, sparklers and homemade ice cream. Personally I like our version better.

Did you know?

Did you know that Tommy sits in a high chair for meals now? He picks up his food, puts in his mouth, and grins.

Did you know that the average person laughs 15 times per day? I think I'm way WAY above average in this respect and here's why:
  • Aundrea and I are convinced that we're employing a team at Miriam Webster's who reads our e-mails for new words that really ought to be in the dictionary. Words like four-fer (what's better than a two-fer?), up-in-the-air-ness, and disintegretous are common among people of our intelligence.
  • Josh calls and sings on my voice mail when any good song comes on the radio. Sometimes I cry, but usually I laugh.
  • Tommy gut laughs with me. And if you're not gonna laugh at your kid, you're probably not gonna laugh at anything.
  • I read a lotta blogs. And some of them link to funny videos like this:
Did you know that we will be going camping this weekend for the first time of the season, also for the first time with Tommy? I blame the weather. And the racing. And the family events. And the schooling. And the jobs. And the general busyness of life for the fact that we completely missed out on the two best months of camping this year. Lame sauce.

Did you know that my older brother can beat Super Mario Brothers? The whole game. On the old school Nintendo. I'm not sure I ever fully appreciated what a work of art that truly was. That was way back in the day before you could save the game and come back later. The kid was dedicated.

Did you know that Josh is trying to beat the whole game? Fortunately for him you can save now. Because if you couldn't I would probably kill him.

Did you know that all of you summer-lovers finally won? I just want to take a minute to remind you that you win EVERY year. July always comes, and we all want to die because of the heat. So, next April when it snows.....just don't forget this feeling of being baked alive OK?

Did you know? The Father's Day Edition

Did you know that there are 67.8 million dads in the United States?

Did you know that Ron (Dad Egbert) was a die-hard Ute fan?

Did you know that there are 23,754 sporting goods stores, 14,193 hardware stores, and only 8,610 men's clothing stores in this country? Do you think you got your dad the right thing?

Did you know that Dad Reilley loves wave runners, 4 wheelers and dirt bikes? Anything with a motor really. And anything that can get him dirty and move him fast at the same time.

Did you know that there are 147,000 stay-at-home Dad's floating around out there? They're probably not really floating....although I've seen more than one dad suck the helium out of his kid's balloon...... Being Mr. Mom just gets cooler and cooler.

Did you know that Dad Fugal can grow just about anything in his vegetable garden (aka The Farm) even in this stupid Utah "soil"? I don't know if he's ever had a crop fail.

Did you know that a measly 72% of Americans plan to celebrate or acknowledge Father's Day this year? The number seems incredibly low to me....sortof sad. So, I guess what I'm sayin' is that if you're blowing it off you should probably change your mind and celebrate it.

Did you know that Josh plays the piano? Beautifully actually. And he can play out of his head. He's a bit out of practice since we don't have a piano in our home, but when we go to any relative's home with a piano he loves to sit down and play. When we grow up he promises to play me lullabies.

Did you know that Josh becoming a father is probably the greatest thing ever to happen to him? I think it makes him happier than anything else in the whole wide world.

Did you know?

Did you know that a hiking stick should be taller than you? This fact comes from eavesdropping on some dude with his kids on our hike last weekend. It makes sense when I think about it, so I'm taking as fact.

Did you know that I sprained my ankle when I was in first grade jumping on the trampoline in my "Sunday socks" (which, of course, are exceptionally slippery)? Actually it was all my sister's fault (as most things are) because she bounced me and I landed in the springs. I hopped around on one foot for weeks.

Did you know that there are places in the world where it never gets this hot? "so why don't you move there and stop whining?" you ask? Well because I like it here. And I really only hate the first few weeks of summer where they slap you in the face with oppressive suffocating heat. In a few weeks I'll be singing praises to the barbecues, gardens, food, swimming, camping and hiking. But for now I'm just trying to breathe when it's 85 degrees INSIDE MY HOUSE at 10pm.

Did you know that Tommy did a little better at church today? I had him during the 3rd hour, and he was tired, and crabby, and we spent a lot of time walking in the hallway, but there was very little screaming, and mostly just a lot f squirming.

Did you know that they closed I-15 in my American Fork last night? This was in order to roll a 2,000 TON bridge into place. Not to brag or anything, but it doesn't take 4 mammoths to put me in place. And while I'm not jumping out of bed every morning, I certainly don't need 300-and-something wheels to roll me around. I think "more mobile than a bridge" might be worth putting on the next version of my resume.

Did you know that walking around in Lindon, Utah pretty much guarantees you'll see people you know and love? And probably you'll see more like 10 of them. Makes for a lovely Sunday evening.

Did you know?

Did you know that a hiking stick should be taller than you? This fact comes from eavesdropping on some dude with his kids on our hike last weekend. It makes sense when I think about it, so I'm taking as fact. *Nevermind I just looked it up and really it should be 6-9 inches above your elbow. So, if you're Thomas that's taller than you, but if you're me it isn't.

Well, because I like it here. I just hate the first couple of weeks of summer where they smack you in the face with suffocating heat and make you want to cry every day. After a while I'll be singing praises to barbecues, food, gardens, swimming, hiking and camping. But right now I'm just trying to catch my breathe in my 85 DEGREE house at 10pm.

Did you know that they closed I-15 in American Fork tonight? Yeah, that was because they are pushing over 2,000 TONS of bridge into place. 2,000 TONS. Listen, I've had some heavier moments in my life...but I've never required even one of the four mammoths they have to use to move that thing. Just sayin' "more mobile than a bridge" is probably something that will go on the next version of my resume.

Did you know that Thomas did a bit better in church today? Of course I had him during the 3rd hour, and we wandered the halls for a good chunk of that time, but he did not scream.....I'll take it.

Did you know?

Did you know that goldfinches (the Washington state bird) eat upsidedown? Here's a video to prove it.

Did you know that Thomas still has no teeth? I swear if they don't come out soon I'm going in after them.

Did you know that I'm still waiting to recover from the lack of sleep from my Washington trip? Somehow it seems like you're not really allowed to sleep in 4 days later and claim it's because you're so tired from being up (and traveling) for 20 out of 24 hours.

Did you know that I'm terribly afraid of heights? And by "heights" I mean "being higher off the ground than I can naturally jump". Josh likes to tease me because if I get more than 2 rungs up on a ladder I think I'm going to die.

Did you know that today we have no obligations? It's Memorial Day and everybody is out of town, it's 5th Sunday and there is no Relief Society which means no meetings, no preparation for Sunday (only a little....) and no meetings afterward. Hooray for me!

Did you know that I have a new nephew? He's hardly new anymore, but lookit how cute he is!

Did you know that Hotprints lets you have one free photo book every month? Awesome.

Did you know that we painted a week ago and still haven't hung stuff on our walls? *sigh* we'll get there.

Did you know?

Did you know that I stole my baby's breakfast? Pancakes and mango puree are just too good to pass up.

Did you know that I tried to rearrange the furniture in my bedroom just to find out that there really is only one way it goes?

Did you know that Thomas had an entire pancake, a bottle and half a mango for breakfast. Maybe he was still hungry after all that so we snacked together on cheerios.

Did you know that I ran a race with a chip on my shoe? The most stressful part of the race was because the guy told us about 10 different times "make sure the shoe with the chip touches the start mat." and I was quite sure mine wouldn't (you know...because of my extraordinarily long stride....psshhhh) I'm pretty sure I took 4 steps on the mat naturally. I didn't need to stress over that.

Did you know that since I couldn't rearrange my bedroom furniture I made Josh paint our living room? It's still drying, I'll let you know if I like it later. *It's later. I love it. LOVE IT! It was totally worth the 3 year wait.

Did you know I also got a steal of a deal on flowers for my balcony? Farewell strawberries, hello pretty!

Did you know that the average lifespan of a major league baseball is only 7 pitches? I can't think of anything that gets gone faster. Not anything. (That's a lie....one time there was a package of oreos.......I can think of that.)

Sunday, May 16, 2010

Did you know?

Did you know that at Walmart $3.49 can buy you 80 ounces of pickles or a measly 16 ounces?

Did you know that I'm rich and famous? You can tell because I'm gonna fly to Washington to have lunch with a good good friend. Don't judge me. It's free.

Did you know that the first product to have a barcode was Wrigley's gum?

Did you know that even if you do dishes 5 times in one day you can still have a sink full at the end of the night?

Did you know that I miss being pregnant? That's a very strange feeling.

Did you know that the "need to eat ice" is a symptom of not having enough iron in your body? Call me crazy, but I suspect that slurpee and snow-cone cravings count as "need to eat ice".

Did you know that hating the heat is genetic? My grandma always used to say it was "hotter than H in here!" and when someone asked what 'H' was she told them "it stands for Hooper". I think I've referenced Hooper about 9,000 times in the past 48 hours. She also used to say that it was so hot it made you want to run naked down the street. That was the most irreverent thing I ever heard her say.

Did you know that grilling season has finally arrived? (See above references to the heat and the dishes.)

Did you know that I'm not pregnant? Even though I referenced pickles, slurpees, pregnancy and the-no-good-very-bad-heat in one post, it's not because I'm pregnant.

Did you know?

Did you know that the blinds have been open in both of bathrooms since the week we moved in? 3 years ago. Much to Junior's dismay....apparently it freaks men out when they're staring out the window which is right above the toilet while doing their buisness and realize they're staring directly into the neighbor's bathroom window. I don't have this problem.

Did you know that Junior taught my baby how to spit? So I'm leaving the bathroom blinds UP. That'll teach him.

Did you know that I'm not part of Generation X? I totally thought I was....but apparently I'm not. Technically speaking I'm Generation Y - which isn't really even a real thing as far as I can tell. Doesn't even have it's own radio station.

Did you know that teeth float? A lady in my ward told me that when babies are getting their teeth they come right up to the surface, then sink back down and float up again for months. MONTHS. I've been telling Josh that I swear I see white right under Tommy's gums then we look and his gums are just plain old boring red. Now I win. I probably did see the floating teeth and then they sunk again. Ha!

Did you know that today Thomas is 7 months old? Wow.

Did you know that we spent the weekend in Lindon? The whole weekend. It was lovely. Hotel Fugal is a beautiful place to be.

Did you know that if the Library didn't e-mail me to tell me my books were due, we'd probably owe them more than we owe on our house?

Sunday, May 2, 2010

Did you know?

Did you know that yesterday Josh and I both went to get a massage yesterday (for free)? That's because Grandma Egbert was kind enough to take Thomas for the day since we had a very important temple date in Logan.

Did you know that when just 2 adults are getting ready, they can wake up at the same time they always wake up but add in a trip downtown and massages and still be ready earlier than they normally are? Turns out that the getting ready of the babe really does take that long.

Did you know that when they say "adult session" of Stake Conference they mean "leave your rotten kids at home because you'll feel like and idiot coming in and out of this meeting 5 times during the first two speakers"? Lesson learned. No more babies at the adult session.

Did you know that yesterday I got my wedding ring back? I needed to size it down and we guessed it was about 1/2 size too big. They shrunk it, but it's still too big - we should've dropped it a full size - but since I hadn't had it for a week, I didn't want them to keep it longer. I missed it.

Did you know that it's possible for a person to sneeze with their eyes open? It doesn't usually happen because your nose and eyes are linked by a cranial nerve. The sneeze goes up to the brain and then back down the "blink" nerve which usually makes you blink. But technically it is possible to sneeze with your eyes open.

Did you know that rearranging the furniture in my living room has me on a "get rid of all the crap we never use" spree? Anybody want a Nintendo 64? (By "crap we never use" I clearly means "Josh's stuff that's buggin' me.")

Did you know that I watched Avatar this weekend? It was sortof against my will....I was given the choice of Avatar with popcorn and other delicious treats or a 2 hour Celine Dion concert with no treats...... Even I will choose blue aliens if it means I don't have to watch her.  I have to say, I was very pleasantly surprised. At least for the first half. The 2nd half was just like every other sci-fi/superhero war scene I've ever watched. For an hour and a half. So it was fine. I just wouldn't say "pleasantly surprising". Also it's a LOOOONG flick. But totally cool.

Did you know?

Did you know that Thomas is sitting on the floor entertaining himself with a Spiderman ball? All by himself.

Did you know that bulls don't really hate the color red? Saw it on Mythbusters.

Did you know that I don't really feel like writing right now? Which is weird, because we all know I talk too much. Eh well. I got the basics covered (Thomas update? Check. Random fact? Check.) so I'm calling it a day.

Did you know?

Did you know that I live 18 powdered mini donuts away from Walmart? Not that I measured or anything, but I also know I can fit 2 whole ones in my mouth at one time.

Did you know that I almost always smile and nod (as if they can see my through the phone) when customer service asks if they can put me on hold? Then I say "yes thanks" as in "thanks for the lame music." "thanks for making me wait while you try to figure out what your company broke" "thanks for wasting my day and my minutes" "thanks for getting elevator music stuck in my head for the rest of the day" "thanks for the muscles you're building in my shoulders while I hold the phone to my ear with no hands". Yes customer service agent. Thank you for putting me on hold.

Did you know that one woman had 69 children? Granted she was only pregnant 27 times. Yes, let's say that again, PREGNANT, twenty-seven times!!!! Wow. Plus, this was back in the day, so she didn't have an epidural or Unisom. Just sayin'.

Did you know that I finally hung Thomas's quilt on the wall? Yep. He's 6 months old and I just got around to doing that.

Did you know that out of love and consideration for you, Josh has quarantined himself? He didn't take his sniffling sneezing coughing self to church today. You're welcome. Also this means I went to 3 whole hours of church without setting foot in the restroom. This is the first time in the 6 months Thomas has been "out" plus the 9 months he was "in". It is a big deal.

Did you know that Thomas thinks that "please" "thank you" and "excuse me" are the funniest words ever? He sneezed in the bath tub and I reminded him to "say excuse me" and he LAUGHED like it was the most hysterical thing he'd ever heard (which very well may be the case....most of what he hears comes from me...). Here's hoping he doesn't think manners are funny once he can actually talk.

Did you know?

Did you know that paper towels start on rolls that are 16 feet long and weigh 16,000 pounds?

Did you know that today's box of Puff's Plus has the boy scout symbol on it? Weird.Tomorrow's probably doesn't.

Did you know that although Josh and I purchased exactly zero Easter presents for our child, he came away with 2 Easter baskets? That's because he has grandmothers who love him. Lucky kid. Meanwhile we have 2.5 dozen eggs in our fridge and more candy than we'll eat before Halloween. SPOI-LED.

Did you know that my sister ran a marathon with a needle in her foot? True story.

Did you know that I won?! This is a first for me, so I had to share. I'm sure you'll hear all about how much faster I am will my cool kids running shirt.

Did you know that Josh secretly plays racquetball? He's not hardcore or anything, but he really likes it and is always trying to force people to play with him. And by "people" I mean "me". And by "play" I mean "stand in the death trap they call a court dodging the bullet ball with a racket shielding my face". Fortunately we had a baby and he's bigger than that little hole in the wall you put your cell phones in. I always knew I wanted to be a mother.

Did you know that my mom is gonna run the 5k with me? That's because of how nice she is. Also she'll probably pretend she really can't run faster than I can just so I don't have to be embarrassed by being passed up by an almost 60 year old. She's really nice.

Did you know my mom is almost 60? Whoa.

Did you know that I will be purchasing my first box of diapers this week? That bites.
